** NEW ADVICE ON REPORTING IRRESPONSIBLE DOG OWNERS **

The Town Council are aware that dog fouling continues to be an issue in Snaith due to irresponsible dog owners who do not clean up after their dog.

We have recently been informed by the East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s Dog Warden service that, due to recent legislation changes, irresponsible dog owners can now be reported anonymously to your local town council, who can then forward on the information to the relevant local authority. Information of any incidents seen should include the date, the type of dog, the location of the incident and the name of the owner if known. All calls will be treated with the strictest confidence.

The East Riding of Yorkshire Council will then have the option of sending out a warning letter or issue a Fixed Penalty Notice for £75, dependant on which is the most appropriate.

For any further information, please call the Town Council on 01405 862663.
