Local Elections – Thursday 4th May 2023
The UK Government has introduced a new requirement for voters to show photo ID at polling stations. This will apply at the local elections on Thursday 4 May 2023.
To make sure you don’t lose your opportunity to vote, it’s important to know which forms of photo ID are acceptable. If you do not have suitable photo ID, you can apply for a Voter Authority Certificate. Please click on the link below for further information on registering to vote, what forms of ID are acceptable and how to apply for a Voter Authority Certificate if you do not have valid ID. The deadline date for applying for a Voter Authority Certificate is 5pm on Tuesday 25 April 2023.
