Snaith & Cowick Town Council set Precept for Financial Year 2024/25

At the Full Town Council meeting held on Monday 15 January, the 2024/2025 Precept was discussed and Town Councillors formally agreed on a 1.5% increase. This equates to a £1.48 yearly increase on a Band D property (equivalent to 2p per week).
Listed below are the new weekly costs per household;

Band A Property £1.28 per week
Band B Property £1.50 per week
Band C Property £1.72 per week
Band D Property £1.93 per week
Band E Property £2.36 per week
Band F Property £2.78 per week
Band G Property £3.21 per week
Band H Property £3.85 per week

Funds will cover Street Cleaning, Community Building upkeep housing ATM machine, Parish Paths, Street Lighting, Street Furniture, Play Park maintenance and Community Events including the Christmas Market, which last year brought in over £3000 for local community groups and charities. The increase will also cover the rise in the general cost of goods and services.

The Town Council also fund local community groups who apply annually for community grants, last year giving a total of £6000 to support the following groups; Snaith Community Playing Fields, Snaith Juniors Football Club, Friends of Snaith Priory, Snaith Primary PTA, Cowick Ladies Guild, Snaith Walking Group, RAF Snaith Memorial and Snaith & Cowick Together who organise the annual Heritage Day Classic Bike show.

The Town Council will continue to put funds directly back into the community from the Precept and work on behalf of its residents.
